Can anyone operate a VNA Forklift in the United Kingdom?
If you’ve taken and passed a course in their safe operation, then you’ll be able to operate a very narrow aisle (VNA) forklift.
Health and safety legislation in the UK dictates that anyone operating a VNA forklift, or any other potentially dangerous machinery, must have a valid certificate before using them in their place of work.
Failing to recognise the importance of safety can result in some nasty accidents, but when you’re armed with the right training and knowledge, nearly all accidents can be avoided.

How long do VNA training courses take?
At DW Forklift Training, we strive to have your course completed as quickly as possible, and in most instances, you can gain your certificate in as little as 8 hours!
We understand that schedules can be tight, which is why we aim to have our courses completed within 6-8 hours (with breaks included of course) but this isn’t to say the quality of our courses or the content we cover is ever compromised.
During this time, classroom learning is combined with hands-on experience, giving you a comprehensive picture of how to operate a VNA forklift safely and efficiently.

How long will my VNA certificate be valid?
Your certificate will serve you for a lifetime, but this isn’t to say that your qualification will last this long.
It’s not uncommon for existing laws in the UK to be adjusted, or for new ones to be introduced and you need to be certain you’re always up to speed.
For many, this means taking a refresher VNA training course, and we’ve found that most of our past students come back to us once they’ve gained their certification – to undergo refresher training and update their knowledge in line with their employer’s health and safety regulations.
Some companies will prefer to have their staff recertified every couple of years, to ensure the highest, most relevant level of training – and we’re more than happy to accommodate these needs.
